I started implementing a first combat system
So today I finished working on player movement and simple enemy AI. Its not perfect yet but for debugging and testing purposes its enough for me.
I now wanted to start implementing my first ever combat system, inspired by Zelda II and Castlevania, though a little bit more responsive, smooth and more forgiving (but not too easy, I want Vania to be a fun challenge).
Currently the player can attack and block enemy hits with his "shield" (a blue area on his sprite for now xD), die in a direct hit without guarding or by directly running into an enemy. Of course you won't be one-hit k.o in the final game^^
the enemy will be stunned when blocking his attacks, and the player sprite will be launched a little bit backwards to add some strategy to fights (idk about this tbh).
So this is all I did in the last week. It's been exhausting cause this is the first game I ever work on and planning on completing it, even if it doesnt look like it.
Stay tuned for more updates :)
